Hello All,
I just registered on this site and I have a Comair interview pending. I would like objective info on the hiring process (interview tips & preparation specific to Comair) and any experiences from F/O's hired within the last year would be much appreciated. What bases can I expect initially and pros/cons from your experience? I understand that some of the info I want may already be posted on this site and re-directs are welcomed. I have 1200hrs total time and 550 multi-turbine on the DH8-300 (right-seat) and am type rated on this a/c.
Thanks in advance

comair has one of the worst deals going for pay during training correct? they pay you 1000 during training but you have to pay your own lodging after the first week? thats ridiculous in my opinion, it might as well be like the older days of paying for training. with your qualifications why wouldnt you look elsewhere?

I can't remember what we were paid during training, but I know it was more than $1000. You get a hotel only for the first week if you are assigned CVG. If you are assigned any other base you will have a hotel room for the duration of your training. Which to me makes sense, if you are going to be based there anyway why should they pay for a hotel.
I shouldn't have dropped the "have a pulse" line. The reason I said that was they are having a tough time getting people to show up for class dates.
The interview, i'm sure, is much like any other airline interview. They want to see if you can get along with your crew on a 4 day trip. Personality is a huge part of it. Sure you need aviation knowledge, but they can teach you what you don't know. You can't teach someone to be personable.

Thanks for the response guys. I was just trying to get a feeler out. I have just posted my resume online and theirs was the 1st response; I definitely will look around.
hatetobreakit2u: I had planned to stay at my current job and upgrade, but it now looks like a merger is in the works and we all know how those go.
