Doesn't sound as professional or cool if you just say who you work for. But if you put (and world wide) people will be like "whoa who do you work for, wow can I work with you", then they realize flight safety or some other company and they think, "oh, nice try". Not sure if god does, but every time I have to the CVG FS I kill a cat (its a dump).

UAL's will show the non-revs as well as where you stand on the employee site as well, new feature when they merged with CAL as COAIR always showed it. It's the seats available that are grossly inaccurate between the employee site and the .com site.

I didn't realize how hard commuting is. Even holding a line now it sucks up five-six extra nights per month and god knows how many hours you could have spend at home being productive or spending time with friends and family.
If I had it to do again I'd seriously consider waiting, even at considerable loss of seniority, to get hired at a carrier with a base in my hometown. I even know that's no guarantee, but wow would my QOL be better. Other than a tripling of pay or my girlfriend growing beer-dispensing boobs, it would be the single best thing to improve quality of life.

True. However, UAL's "flying together" employee site (formerly Skynet) can be so horribly inaccurate of what's really going on. I can be at the gate, looking at the site, while the departure monitor is COMPLETELY different as far as seats available, seats yet to be assigned, whatever.
Meanwhile, I can to the UAL app on my phone and look at the sub menu/seat map and it jives with the departure screen/real time info. To include the non-revs listed. But that's just United, other companies may be different. I heard that DAL's is pretty accurate, no personal experience though.

For UAL, you don't need to actually access info online, just copy this down and keep it handy for future reference, it is valid for pretty much any UA flight:
