Default Leading Edge University at XJT

Apparently it is types of management seminars available to management to explain to management how to manage. According to the website people have a chance to complete different classes before 'moving up a tier', and once you move up to that tier you can teach others in the lower tier. Does anyone find these types of programs a complete waste of time and money? It looks more like a cult than an actual business.

Hey, if you want a few hours for team building then that's fine, but this whole 'University' thing seems like a crock. I don't need the payroll person to learn to cultivate and develop proper people skills to empower themselves - I want them to fix my damn paycheck!!

Sorry for the rant - I guess I just don't completely understand the corporate enviornment.

This type of thing is very common in the corporate world. Yes I think most of the schools conducting them are probably scamming money out of employers with a promise of "Professional Development." Workers enjoy it as a way to get out of the office for a day and talk shop.
