Just thought I would put my two cents in about Bose headsets too. Well I bought my Aviation X headset back in 2005 and just about a year ago two things started to happen. Descending into an airport with the ANR on (only on descent and ANR on now) I would get a nasty loud squeel in the left ear only. It was loud enough that the pilot I was flying with would be like....what the h%ll was that? I would have to take it off my ear or turn off the ANR. Weird. The other was a problem with the cable were it attaches to the headset, with the ANR on if I turned my head and made the cable move the wrong way there would be this buzz over the headset and I would not be able to hear anything. Seemed to always happen when ATC was talking only to us....haha the only way I could use ANR and that not to happen is if I clipped the cable to the mike boom! So I called Bose and they were going to refurbish it for $200 but I opted to get the new Bose A20 headset and I have to say its far better than the Aviation X headset. I love Bose products and the customer service is amazing with that company. So if you can afford it buy the new one if not send it in. Im sending my old one in so I can have for a backup!! Good luck but you wont be disappointed with Bose.
