Bose X headsets

Does anyone here experience "interference" while using the Bose X in the cockpit? To me, it sounds like a high pitch "eeeee" sound dependent on which way my head is facing and distance from the circuit breakers behind my head....

Sounds like you have an issue with your headset, it happens. Mine was messing up a few years back with a high pitch tone. The only way I could get the tone to stop was to touch a piece of metal. Really weird.

Call Bose and send it in for repair. They'll even replace some small wear and tear items while they have it.

For 200 bucks Bose will strip it down and do a full refurbishment on them. I had mine done, better than new.

Yeah, I get what sound like wet sandals walking. Turning strobes off helps.

Is it in all planes? I have noticed problems in certain planes, but its a problem with the digital audio panel, not the headset....If its the headset, their customer service dept is awesome.

Try getting a stereo to mono adapter from radio shack. For some reason I remember when I used mine on the atr and emb I had issues and I think that resolved it.

You shouldn't need that. Inside the battery compartment are a set of dip switches that allow you to switch between mono and stereo. The user manual has the settings.

The Bose mono channel on the plug is smaller than most and other headsets wear out the receptacle and the Bose headsets then don't make good contact and create static. By buying the stereo-mono adapter you make better contact with the adapter and the adapter has a wider channel! When you look at them you don't notice a big difference but it makes a differerence. If your company has DC on the airplane, compare the plugs against your Bose you will see a difference on the audio plug (one with 2 bands on the Bose, the thicker one) and then look at the wider band, that's your mono! Sorry typing from the phone....

check your proximity to the electrical leads on your window heat. i always get that feedback when the window heat is on and my head set gets a certain distance from it. i'm not smart enough to know why though.
