commuting out of FL sucks...no way around it.
Life at ANY regional and commuting ... well QOL sucks......
If you insist on making your life miserable for the foreseeable future, see the advice above.

Seriously. If my wife insisted on staying in FL, I'd probably just get a new wife.

Not necessarily true in S. FL...FLL, PBI, and MIA are all connected by the Tri-Rail.
That being said, I have had friends that do it tell me a few times they ended up going to RSW and MLB and then renting a car.

I hear ya, but now you're just tacking on an hour or more to the commute. No matter what this guy does, his life is gonna be rough for a couple of years.

Remind the wifey she married a pilot not the local beer truck driver, we'll probably be moving more than once.

Getting based in ewr is probably your best bet. You can take the tri rail to pbi fll or mia and as someone said earlier a shuttle from lga or jfk is $15 if you're unable to fly directly into ewr. I live in sfl and haven't really had problems getting to or from ord, iah has proven to be more difficult (the few times I've tried at least). Msp and dtw are terrible commutes from sfl.

How often you're home depends on the reserve rules and schedules on where ever you decide to go.

Hope this helps!

I signed up for an APC account after years of lurking just to +1 this comment. Thank you, sir.

He would not hold ORD . ORD is most senior right now

I commuted from PBI-MSP for 9e from March 2010-July 2011 and it yielded a few "no shows". My best advice is to get familar with the Tri Rail system, which runs between all three South Florida airports. Because it may be easy to get out of one airport, but hard to get back into it.

As of 2010, the annual parking rate at PBI was $250.00 (non-pro rated), which must be renewed on January 1st each year.

Good luck
