Except this company is so inept you will not be paid correctly during training. Being shorted your entire minimum guarantee and only paid per diem or vice versa gets old.

Oh yeah, I get that. The sad thing is if they came to me and said, "Since you won't get to the line until at least October (November more realistically), we will pay the difference through the new year, not train you on the Q, put you on a 200 as an FO, then cut your pay in the new year." I would be all for it.

I'm game to save the company $20k for giving me a type I will never fly. Alas, these are the same folks who negotiated a deal to break even ... at best. Clearly, they aren't very smart.

(sorry, I still have the 135 mentality of dealing with a company who wants to make money. And when it asks for favors, it gives them in return)

Chapter 7 is the answer.

That's the smart answer for those who can move on. Those with 15+ years at both Pinnacle and Mesaba cannot afford a Chptr 7.

4 years and youre a captain, thats pretty good. I just hit five years and i still have 3 and 4 year guys getting captain slots in front me. Be careful who you complain in front of. I figured you guys would be thankful to have jobs, let alone captain slots. A few more 9E guys getting downgraded to accomodate some more colgan captains.

Uhh... I was saying taking a pay hit from 4-5+ year FO to first year somewhere else would hurt... I made no mention of which seat... sorry to hear the integration didn't help your overall seniority... perhaps next time you will have better luck. And if you want someone to blame look at Bloch... not what remains of the Colgan pilot group.

Yea, 42 back to 20 isnt an option... this should be real interesting. Im predicting a lot of unplanned career changes. The pathetic part isnt even pinnacle or gojet or bloch, its the regional executives. Theres no other word than pathetic.

Those with 15+ years at either carrier made some significant career planning errors at one point or another.

stay classy, San Diego....:roll eyes: You might want to re-ANALize that statement....

That's about as dumb as them saying "any Pinnacle FO that has been an FO here for 5 years has made some significant career planning errors." Cause let's face it.....this place goes tits up or you leave for another regional, you could very well be at the regional level for 15 years yourself....

You see, there were little things like 9/11 and '08 collapse of the economy which pretty much stagnated major hiring for the last 11 years....not to mention the explosive growth of RJ's....
