So Skywest is locked into multiple EAS routes with 200s it seems... How is Pinnacle going to be the only 200 operator? Its not like they can throw a 700 or 900 on these routes.

It doesn't matter if they were players back then. It's the same BS that were feed to us. "we need to keep cost down to see more planes" They just change the airlines name. This time it's Compass and GJ, before it was Mesaba.

Its pretty simple: Pinnacle is a dying company in a dying industry.

I'd think it would be better to suck as much money as you can out of it before the end as possible. Go for pay raises, not cuts.

It is a dying industry. The Delta pilots are about to rejuvenate it though by allowing more large rj's in the industry. Hopefully, the Delta TA gets voted down.

The regionals will always be a rat race to the bottom. It will take another 3407 to change the disgusting cultural ways.

In 2006 there were only 2 main NWA Airlink operators, XJ & 9E. Both companies had fairly close cost structures. Today in the DCI arena I have lost track how many there are. Several, CZ & G7, are fairly new start ups and don't have senior pilot groups unlike 9E and Comair. Cost structures between DCI very vastly, unlike the 2 Airlinks that existed in 2006.

Sadly I think this is 100% accurate. It's more of a matter if "when" vs "if"

We all care about 3407 type accidents, but the general public doesn't...
