I'm trying to get our long term military guys jumpseat privileges while on extended military leave. Our company (PSA) takes guys off after 30 days. I believe if we make a case that other airlines are letting their guys keep the benefit then the company will change its stance.
Please respond if your airline let's you keep the CASS active! And please make sure you're certain, I don't want to look silly by presenting false information!
I asked my buddies in other airlines and most weren't sure. Delta was the only one I know for sure that long term mil guys keep their jumpseat.
Thanks in advance guys and gals!

I think the company has to take responsibility for your fitness as a crewmember if they leave you in CASS. At the least I would imagine they would need a copy on file of a current 2C medical.

I heard that before. I think if you're on mil leave it's your responsibility to keep medical current and have a copy for the company. Seems fair.

I was on military leave for training Feb-May this year and used my CASS privileges several times. Pretty sure they were supposed to stop working after 7 days, but HR never turned it off...
Edit: Forgot to mention, I'm at RAH

I'm on long-term mil leave. United lets you stay on CASS---thank goodness.
I think (not positive) Delta does too.
I have a friend from AirTran, and they took him off. He was astounded I got to keep mine.
It truly is up to your jumpseat committee to get it...or maybe the contract?
Good luck to you....I'm thankful to have it.

Thanks for the responses! I am on the j/s committee. Just wanted apc responses first before I start contacting others which will take forever!
So United, Delta (it was confirmed), RAH (depends on your luck), heard mesaba did too but that was pre merger.
AirTran no no, PSA no no.
Glad we still got pilots helping pilots
thanks again.
