So...

American in your usage should always be capitalized. Proper nouns are always capitalized.

I am an American pilot.
I am an American pilot living in Hong Kong.
I am an American pilot that flies for Delta Airlines.

If you are going to go around correcting people, PLEASE get it right!

Doh. I think the following image applies to myself.

This was an Island, agent attitude, not knowing how to do her job correctly issue. I just wanted to kinda warn anyone heading that way to be aware.

From SABRE:

51N .//LIMITED AGREEMENTS// THE NUMBER OF LIMITED RIDERS
52N .BOARDED IS RESTRICTED TO THE PHYSICAL NUMBER OF
53N .COCKPIT JUMPSEATS ON THAT AIRCRAFT.
54N .

60N .
61N .ALL INT/L AGREEMENTS ARE LIMITED AND OA CREWMEMBERS
62N .MAY ONLY BE SEATED IN THE CABIN.
Note line 60... All international agreements are limited. The only markets in which the unlimited agreements are apply are domestic US (50 States + USVI). That said, D7 agreements, all of which are unlimited, are also only applicable in domestic markets, so a USAirways FA shouldn't have been boarded at all, and certainly not at the cost of your boarding.

you probably have a similar response to passengers when they say...

"hey, can you get in your plane and fly us, we've been waiting for three hours now, i have a connection to make"

It's Delta Air Lines. I am not a Delta pilot. I am ex-DHL.

Moonwolf, you truly deserve the tool of the day award.

I used to fly for Eagle out of MIA and have done all the Bahamas cities many times. I can confirm the attitude. I just wonder why Americans keep going back to more abuse. Try the Dominican Republic, at least most everyone is pretty nice to you.

I will never spend one dollar of my personal money on going to the Bahamas for vacation. It's nice and beautiful there but so are plenty of places in Florida, Mexico and other parts of the Caribbean where the locals don't have the attitude.
