7 leg days are terrible. I've done them three times and now I bid away from then. Starting to see improvements is stage lengths in August. I got several high credit trips (25-27 hrs credit) with no more than 5 legs. Lots of CVG-EWR and ATL-PHF type legs. A lot better than ATL-CHA(a whole lot of work for very little pay)

Yeah before the merger, there was a possibility of an ORD base for L-ASA and the interest was through the roof. It would not be as senior as ATL but definitely more senior than DTW or IAD.

It will take a couple of years to get through the fences, which means that by then enough time will have passed that very few if those interested before will be in the same position.

Nah, shorter than you are thinking.

I would disagree, most of those who want ORD are fairly senior, especially on the captain side. Obviously the FO landscape will be completely different in a few years when fences are down, but most of the captains I'm thinking of are lifers.

I doubt the fences will be less than 2 years... company doesn't want to spend a ton of money on training costs as everyone trades around. I wish and hope for little to no fences as I'd LOVE to trade to one of the ERJ bases and I know a lot of other pilots wanting the same thing, just not holding my breath. We need a contract first anyway and it doesn't seem like that's happening anytime soon.
