SKW Hiring

SKW Hiring
I would like to put to rest the rumor that SKW is not hiring. Camielle Ence who is our (SKW) Recruitment Mgr his sent the following email to all pilots. I offer it in verbatim, cut and past straight from the email.
"There is a bad rumor out there that we have suspended all interviews. NOT TRUE! I had to "reschedule" a few due to manpower issues. I couldn't staff for Job Fairs AND interviews on the same day so we had to reschedule them. Please keep those resumes coming! Thanks for all the help. Camielle"
Please, if you’re still interested in SKW then I strongly suggest that you attend one of the job fairs or have your resume walked in. If your resume is walked in be prepared to not get a call right away. I know in the past Camielle has contacted walk-ins within days but they have had "Manpower Issues." I have recently walked three resumes into her and she told me to have all three go to the job fair. 2 did and are now in training. The third waited almost 4 ½ weeks before she had time to contact him about an interview. Be patient, they are backed up all the way through IOE. So far this year there have been over 500 pilots hired and trained and we still need MANY MORE. We have 100’s of United pilots who are getting the called back and lots more that we’re loosing to the majors each day.
Also, the last CRJ CA award had several pilots who were 1 ½ years into the company and Bro (EMB-120) upgrade is almost immediate on obtaining the hours. I don’t think that CRJ upgrade will stay at 1 ½ years but that’s a lot of F/Os they have to replace, FAST. With the way the Majors are going, I do see the upgrade on the Bro staying at 2500 TT/ 1000 121 crew & CRJ 2 years.
GOOD LUCK!

JetJock,
I am a flight instructor from an Western Michigan with 1000tt and 100 multi. I have sent my resume through snail mail, email, and had a skywest FO "walk it in" (I think he emailed it to Camielle). I am wondering what to expect if I go to the upcoming group interview in Cincinatti and when I can expect an interview and resulting training date if I am so lucky? Thanks for the information.

You will probably get called eventually based on your internal rec. However there is a LOT of hiring planned, and a few months could mean a lot of seniority numbers so you might want to go to a group interview soon just to cover your bases. You will probably get invited to SLC at the group interview.

Hotel (double occupancy)
Uniforms
Jepps
Guarantee pay (60 hours?)
I think you may have to buy your blazer jacket, and you will have to buy a leather jacket if you want one. Also you may want to buy some Jepp binders.
They have been very good about space positive travel to and from training events, and also to get you home on weekends.

The group interviews are really a great learning experience. I was really impressed with the people that I met there and was really excited that they called me out to SLC for the rest of the interview.
