Any employees of Republic know approximately how long it would take a new hire to get based at LGA? Is it a senior or junior place base? Thanks...

It is kind of senior. Probably a couple of years to get it.

2 years!? For New York!? Is that as an F/O or Captain? Where are the new-hires normally being sent w/ CHQ?

2 years for an FO, by then you could probably upgrade...but not in LGA. New hires likey going to SDF, IAH, CMH, BUF, and probably the recently announced CVG base.

Wow. Used to be that it took 2 years to bid OUT of this place. Obviously alot of people from the Northeast at CHQ. Thanks for the info.

I know an FO there, he's been on reserve 1.5 years. No light at the end of the tunnel.

I spent 0 days on reserve at CHQ. It is all about what base you get. With all the upgrade awards going on at present (about 50 awards last month and this month, too), it is likely the senior F/O population in any given base will soon disappear and you can luck into the most senior of bases (except MCO). As for upgrading and getting LGA as a captain...good luck. Oh, at least until Republic announces a 170 or 175 base there. Then the shakeup will be in full force system-wide. Come on over, cast your lot and see what you get. At least you can get CRJ, which is only being staffed with new hire F/O's (F/O's on property now cannot bid into the CRJ- think instant seniority and small likelihood of sitting reserve). Act now, this offer won't last long!

That's great for you, but doesn't help this fellow. All signs point to LGA being a very senior base for FO's. 1.5 years on reserve and counting for my bud there. He's in danger of getting displaced even he thinks.
