Bingo. Bye Bye to all Embraers and hello to 140 lightly used CRJ200s.

Which they can then keep a few for eagle and dual qual everyone then contract out the rest. Seems stupid though when there are a ton of MINT Embraers at Eagle...

That would be one hell of a senior base!

I've been hearing AMR flying rumors for a while now. Is there really any news about this or is it just an old rumor coming about again?

Just a rumor that's been blown out of proportion through people playing telephone I'm sure. The company has talked about opportunities on the horizon, but nothing specific.

the leases on the EMJs are complicated, and both AMR and the AE union have said this a few times. They are leased long term from the bank of Brazil who told them it was all or nothing on them. I would be amazed to see AMR entirely replaced them with CRJ200s or at least about the 200-250 50seat jets they need going forward. A few RJ airlines would have to hire 2000-3000 pilots while maintaining Eagle, and fully staffing Eagle in the transition. It just seems very complex and people are just making up what they want to benefit themselves as an outcome of these rumors. The only other option is AMR exchanges them 2 for 1 for 175s. I guess the entire dismantle of Eagle could happen as they give the 175s to RAH and keep the CRJ700s and whatever else they get for Eagle CRJ wise, bid out the 175s and bid out the entire 50 seat flying. Seems like a huge friggin gamble that it actually played out. Sounds more like hype and rumors. Also since nothing has happened with the AA pilot contract, I doubt anything is going to happen with feed airlines first, since AA contract stops it till those items are changed.

You think alot... I used to do this with 9E and thought everything made sense in my head, then nothing came out remotely close to what I though it would. You have no clue about what will happen even with such information you have given. Airlines are smart and sneaky. Trying to justify anything in this industry will make you lose you medical someday. No regional is safe, no matter the complexity of anything. Everything is a guess these days and typically the craziest scenario is what happens.

Nothing has happened to the APA contract! What rock have you been livig under, AMR can impose work rules as it sees fit as long as they don't go below the 1113 term sheet, AMR hasn't made any changes to the contract or made anything public. They can contract with Anyone to fly 88 seaters at any time they want, what will they do or get away with is another conversation! The company hasn't made anything public and thus why we have so many rumors!

The terms were changed.... I see Eagles 135/140's gone.. And maybe the first 20-25 145's... Bet Republic strikes a deal with EMB to exchange those for 175's.. AA wants 255 larger RJ's. And i bet wants only 100-150 smaller 50 seat RJs... I could see SkyWest jumping on LAX. They over lap all the same routes and have MX bases out there. Look how easy it was for them to get PHX up and running.. Same thing different city... So unless Eagle can "bank roll" 255 large RJ's...... There.. You know what.
