Default Jumpseating question?

Do airlines cross check info? For example, if you call in sick and then JS on another carrier??

It depends on the carrier - especially if their res systems are interlinked. (AA & AE, CO & XJ, etc). With CASS out there, I would not be sick-calling and flying on anyone unless I paid for a seat.

thanks just curious....

not like I would do it........just planning for a possible ' have to' situation.......if it comes down to it maybe a non-cass carrier would work.

At Alaska we have a rule that says you can not non-rev if you are on sick leave without specific permission from (I believe the DO). However, as the base chief pilot told me, there is no restriction for the Jump seat. If however you are jump seating to Mexico as you call in sick, you may be in for some awkward questions.

Don't do it and don't lie about it. Unless you are at the hub and jumpseating home (and can prove that you do in fact live wherever it is you jumpseated to) you are opening a whole can of worms that will at best, get you an invitation for a carpet dance at the CP's office and at worst cost you your job. Have heard of a few folks trying it (mainly dumbass FAs but a couple pilots) and it never ends well.

They will not find out unless they are looking for it...ie you ****ed someone off or your company has institutionalized paranoa...
