TSA ..... share please
Hey Guys/Gals,
Anybody walked down the corridors of TSA lately going through an interview? If so, please share your thoughts - tricks played on you.... etc etc.
Please don't refer me to aviationinterviews.com - Been there, done that. I'm looking for personal notes, anything at all.... share if you feel like it.
Thx

For the written, know the ATP book chapters 1-8 and weather. Know jepp charts pretty well and don't be a dumbass! There was this one dumbass that told Ed Phelps that he is the most comfortable with the 727 and its systems. Ed is a captain of 6 years on the damn thing so he gave him 3 chances before he started asking systems questions. This kid did not get a single question right and I don't know if he got hired or not. He was a Perdue grad. FYI.

The only info I have on TSA is if anyone else besides Mesa is offereing you a Jet job... TAKE IT! I know a lot of people that have been screwed by the management at TSA, yet so many people (including guys i went to school with) are going there. I have not ever heard a single good thing about them. Be careful!!!

If what you say is actually true, then he didn't deserve to get hired, and is NOT representative of the many Purdue grads who currently or previously have worked at TSA. Where did you hear this story from?

Perdue has chicken in Maryland, Purdue is a university in Indiana.

So I misspelled a the name of a school. Sue me. I was in the jumpseat and I heard it from one of the three guys that was on that particular interview. I did not any implications about Purdue grads.

Yeah, a lot of people got screwed by the gojet happening, and there were some furloughs back in the spring. But they're hiring like mad now. I just started training and there will be at least one, more then likely at least 2 classes behind me. So at least I won't be sitting airport reserve for months. Theres I good chance the people in my class will have a line after a couple months of flying.

I'm not.
I don't deny there are some low-time pilots coming out of LAF with a bit of an entitlement mentality, and I know every training organization has their 2%, but I want to make sure its known that gross arrogance & ignorance is not representative of Purdue aviation alumni.
The 727 is an easy systems airplane (compared to an RJ), and if the person in question cannot answer basic systems questions about it after FOUR SEMESTERS of class, they definately don't deserve a 121 job.
