That is because cognitive skills are not tested on a medical only blood pressure, pulse and your ability to turn your head and cough

Yeah I agree, love the people who argue age discrimination. Are you kidding? Medical's come out of cereal boxes. If you want to fly till your 75, great no problem here but actually prove you can!

The only problem with increasing medical certification standard is that there are many YOUNGER pilots who wouldn't qualify as well. Do you really want to roll those dice?

I'll stick with what the FAA requires. If the minimum wasn't good enough, it wouldn't be the minimum.

I agree with you. I think the current medical standards and retirement age are sufficient. How can you justify raising the retirement age without significantly raising the medical standards for that group? I have spoken with many people in the 60-70 year old age bracket, many in / retired from aviation, and most if not all agree the age 65 rule should be the limit.

Besides the rumor mill, where is the evidence that 'Age 65' is being upped? So far, I haven't seen anything. ???

I've heard they're moving to "as old as you can pass a medical". But only for gojet pilots.
