So, do to being based in ATL but refusing to live there I choose to commute. I have the pleasure to ride on one of Delta's chosen sub contractors often to get me to my family or back here to work. In the last two months I've made the trip 10 times. 3 of those have made it within an hour of being on time. The rest have been an absolute embarrassment. I have gotten to the point of not commuting in uniform because I'm not going to answer for the airlines failures. To be fair however, mainline hasn't served my destination much better.

And another thing..... the other night it took 56 minutes from touchdown until I received my planeside bags. Stellar performance and proud to be involved!!!

It's not just delta. I fly on Eagle/AA once every six months on average, if that. I flew on them 2 times in 3 weeks last month, both times they turned 25 minute flights into 55 minutes-60 minutes for no reason at all. How long can it really take to MEL a Landing light? How about start and engine and taxi to the de ice stand?

Look at what's happening with the pilots at Pinnacle, for example. I'm surprised they would get the plane there at all, forget about on time.

Blood is still fresh from the Comair killing, but Delta's thirst still isn't quenched. I would not fault any Pinnacle pilot for making sure everything was "working" before they left the gate.

Sorry man, but there are bigger things going on than just your commute.

Its not Pinnacle that I'm speaking of. Trust me, I am well aware of their issues and they have handled things very professionally as well did the comair folks.

When American does it, they're heroes. When a regional does it, they're amateurs...

You have obviously never flown for a regional. Paperwork seems to take forever for the dumbest things. And how long it takes to get to the de-ice pad is mostly determined by how long the line is.

I currently work for a regional, so thats one point.

The airport we were at has 2 total gates, and we were the only departure at 6AM. How long can it really take.

FWIW, I work at a regional with a base on an island, where everything runs on island time, and it doesnt take 25 minutes to MEL a landing light. Write in book, call dispatch, call MOC, receive revised release with MEL, make entry into AML. 5-7 minutes if you're not trying to milk the clock purposely. Crew Placarding at its finest.

Yes, commuting sucks. Your options are to get another job or move to base. Whining is completely unproductive.

The point is not commuting, it is how crappy a certain airline runs. I see many of the same paying customers who have had a belly full. As this airline's crews rub theirs hands and lick their chops at more flying, I'm guessing you will be next under the microscope of Delta and feel its ruthless thumb.
