Today is 4 years (since 3407)....

Today is the 4th anniversary of Colgan 3407. I just wanted to take a moment to remember all the victims and my fellow Colgan family members. I think of you often and smile when I think of all the great times and fond memories all of us shared.

That night I got a call from a buddy, a fellow flyer, asking if I was okay (he thought I might have been on that flight). I was asleep and had no idea.
The next morning, that was one of my toughest days.... Sitting in the crew room.... people we liked, cared for, they were gone.
Marvin, you were one Damn nice guy.

I remember where I was that night. It took me until 2am trying to locate my friend and former student who I thought may have been the FO on 3407. He wasn't but; I by chance, had talked to Becky over New Years that year. I haven't forgotten that night. Thanks for posting.

I've lost nine comrades and friends to this industry, and nearly lost two more. Unfortunately, I have gotten accustomed to learning of a friend's misfortune, but such is life. Those I lost were people who loved flying. They didn't seek the sexy image of "pilot", they just loved being in the air. They did what they loved. I miss them all.
