I also liked it when I asked on a 4-day trip buyoff, what exactly one did in those 4 days. I got roundabout answers, but no detailed breakdown of every day on a hourly basis what was done. Those buyoffs are coming off pilot dues, so I think it is fair to know where pilot money is being spent and how that time is being spent/wasted.
I never said expenses should be held under a veil of secrecy. I think an explanation is more than fair, and should be required.

I realize that there are ALPA reps that take advantage of the system, but the approach of the Eagle rep is pretty weak to me.

You have a problem, you settle it like an adult, man to man. You work with one another to come up with a solution. It's putting basic group work skills to use. Blast mailing an entire base with his CSI detective work is nothing more than a cheap political move on his part, and does nothing to further any cause of Eagle pilots, in my opinion.

Nothing like pilots vs pilots to solve our problems.

I disagree. If the problem was between two individuals then yes, settle it man to man but this problem involves EVERYBODY who pays dues and they deserve to know where their hard earned money has been going!

Ditto! ditto! DITTO! ... what? He is suppose to accept it. Keep his mouth shut. And let his fellow pilots continue to be unaware? no. he is communicating this to his pilot group. Karma, I agree w you. Not the above guys.

Your dues are going towards my rental car and my $8 five guys cheeseburger when I have to commute to a city on my OFF day at 7am to visit 6 hotels in order to get out of the horrible hotels we are currently staying in. Any other questions??

actually the rep did try within to get results. the MEC secretary/treasurer when they started to look into this was put back on line and union leave canceled at the MEC request. The MEC has had other drinking binges that have been expensed as meals and receipts were iffy at best. So it is not the reps problem for bringing out the thievery by the MEC but the MEC problem for false expensing.

I don't even expense a portion of my cell phone bill which I know I deserve to. Maybe there are some pilots that are looking out for the whole group. Not just sit back and whine.
