Yes. I good friend of mine was trying desperately to get the financing on the zero to hero ATP wonder package, but couldn't get approved. He had a respectable credit score too.

Not only are people getting turned off by this industry, the ones that do want to become pilots are facing stiff headwinds in the way of tighter lending practices, high av-gas prices, and now they have to find a way to build 1,500 hours before they can even be considered for the worst regional.

At least Republic keeps its colony of workers on a ball and chain for 24 months.

This is awesome. The Regional business model is about to finally get what it deserves...new hires saying 'f off'!

If this is true, I will be applying.

Personally I don't think a raise in the bonus will make much of a difference. Maybe a little. I just don't think there are that many qualified pilots out there. I bet there are a bunch with a couple hundred hours that would love to come to the regionals but now they can't afford to get their 1500 hours. CFI used to be the main road to the regionals but now there are not many students to instruct. Just my 2 cents.

i think the only true way Eagle will attract new hires is to show them proof of a good upgrade time and career progression. A fleet plan would be good for starters.

For me, I have 3300 hours and only 10 hours of jet time and no type. I need the experience but didn't want to take such a huge pay cut. The 10k would help a lot, in that regard.

Worse case scenario, I get my PIC type, jet time, and 10k and get furloughed in a few months. Best case scenario, I get hired before a big wave and stay in the 121 world.
