I have done the research on both, just trying to figure out if there is anything to sway me one way or the other.

Ok, then I'll bite. Why have you chosen the two most senior, top heavy, and stagnant regional? Why not go to Pinnacle or GoJet and get your time/move on?

I have 6 former flight students that are/were in regionals. Two of my students are here at Eagle, one is at Skywest, two were furloughed from Mesaba/Pinnacle and are now at ExpressJet, and the last one was at GoJet but quit because he hated it that much.

The ones at Republic and Commutair are beyond miserable. They hate each day of their lives and wish they had never become pilots. The one at Expressjet is "ok" but complains daily about something that crew scheduling did to him. But I really feel sorry for the ones at Republic and Commutair. The ones at Republic have each been displaced 4 times over the past year alone. Their work rules are non-existent and can barely pay their bills even on third year pay. No pay for canceled flights is what really puts them in the hole I have heard. That on top of other little things that add up. |

Because both of these offer basing locations that are an easy commute from where I live (1 short flight). If I have to be based a long way away from where I live, the low pay is not worth it, nor the hassle of hopping numerous flights just to try to get back home. I am looking at quality of life compared to possibly a better outfit to work for since like most people I am hoping to get a job with a major if/when they start hiring. As it sits now, I do not have the recency (maybe 150 hours) in the last 3 years to have a competitive shot at a major if they were hiring today, so hoping I can build that plus have some 121 background when the majors do start hiring.
PM me and I will help you get an interview at Eagle. |
You seem to know it all. How long have you been at AE?

You just ignore what the rest of us say. It is all just filler until you can grace us with your wisdom. I'm sure it is the highlight of many people's day. |

I'm a 6yr fo at Lxjt. I have 360 ahead of me for upgrade and may not see it for 2 more years... I say go to eagle. We are in a mess right now and I don't see it getting better anytime soon. The company keeps beating us down, crew scheduling is constantly circumventing the contract and you will be jr on reserve for a long time. Actually I suggest you or anyone interested should reconsider the fact that working at home depot/lowes/walmart/mcdonalds will pay you more first year, people will respect you and you will be home every night.
Also don't listen to Capt. Tony. He is a dbag poopstirer. |
