Default Express Jet vs Eagle

I am not familiar with either, can someone give some comparisons? I have interviews with both, but not sure which operation is more sound. From my reading it looks like Expressjet might be the better choice, but looking for more opinions. If there is already a thread about this, please point me in the right direction.

Well...XJT while not perfect, isn't too bad. Pay seems to be at the higher end among regional carriers. Reserve rules are also good. Downside is a rather difficult merger in the works, but that won't affect a new hire too much.

Eagle? I don't know that much about. They're staring at a rather difficult situation with the American merger. Perhaps they'll see a lot of movement as American/USAir starts to hire.

Honestly right now it's a crap shoot.

To to both, if you have 2 offers then decide, until then, act like you want to go to both. Eagle is tough now with an uncertain future, however, expressjet, until recently was somewhat stagnant

Xjt! But honesty go where there is a base closest to you. Can't really predict what either will do in the future

So true! Go where you want to be based. Commuting blows!! Even though XJT has the commuting clause in the contract.

Honestly, when it comes to Regionals, go to the one that has a base where you want to live.

How hard is it to commute? I live in northwest Arkansas which has flights all day direct to Houston or Dallas which is where I would want my basing to be if I got to choose.

Guys have told me XNA is a pretty easy commute, but I have no first hand experience.

That's a pretty easy commute to DFW, as far as commutes go. Guys who commute between DFW-ORD will sometimes go DFW-XNA-ORD because it's easier to get on those flights then the direct one many times.
