Not much going on, a jumpseat priority isn't anything to write home about considering the BK and concessions.

It's a good thing when I have to deal with the other Skywest, Compass, and Express Jet pilots trying to commute in and out of my home base. The BK and concessions has been going on for awhile. At least this is something to help some of us make our commute easier, and less stress. You may not see it but some of us think this new priority will help lots of our pilot who commute.

Ya and hurt everyone else commuting/ going through contract negotiations. It is what it is and you all had no choice but the recent chain of events is comparable to taking a bat to the knees. I wouldn't gloat too much about this. BUT good for you guys, I am glad I am not a commuter.

Gloat? Really? It's been hell at Pinnacle for the past 12 months. I would gladly give this up to have our old contract back I'm sure you know well what we had to deal with the last 12 months. At least you still have your decent contract compared to Pinnacle.
9E, XJ, and 9L endure a mismanaged merger, go through a brutal bankruptcy, have all our flying go back to Delta, then have a direct threat from Delta that they are going to start shutting us down if we don't comply. It was our duty to to vote no so that all of the other Regionals wouldn't have to negotiate harder. Now when they all vote yes on concessionary contracts, they can just blame Pinnacle, because we should have had the balls to vote no. |

But you see, it's all Pinnacles fault.

I dont think 9E was a job worth saving. Then again I'm probably saying that because in my position there, I could make more as a Burger King manager, get to be home every night, and have better advancement opportunities.
YMMV... |

You do understand that being a manager at *insert fast food* or Walmart is not an entry position right? Most of these people work up from within the company or have retail, or management in food service. There's some exception to everything but, you're not going to go from regional FO and walk in thinking a manger position is easy to get. Yes they may make more but it's not easy to get the job as you think.
You are right, though. You can't just walk into a fast food place etc and be like "I want to be a manager" and get it. |
