Commuting from New Mexico?

I'm thinking about throwing in my hat and try a regional. At 46, Its probably a bad idea, but I cant seem to keep anything stable in the 135 world.

Any recommendations on which would be the best option for commuting from New Mexico?

thanks

New Mexico...

Can't help you partner, we need more information. What city from and what city to. What airline are you looking into.

I'm in Santa Fe. Right now, I dont care which, just the best for commuting from SAF.

I know a few Captains here at Eagle that commute from ABQ to DFW. They have no problems. Between mainline AA and Eagle we have direct flights from ABQ, SAF, and ROW.

Commuting from New Mexico?

Isn't there a company called Air New Mexico? I heard they had a nice fleet and were pretty reputable. Plus turbine pic ;)

It Pacific Wings, its a Caravan, and, honestly, dont need turbine time, but thanks.

Seems like regionals based in DEN or DFW are your best bet out of SAF. Other cities would be a two leg commute...

If you want to stay in Santa Fe, I would try SkyWest, Republic, or Eagle. Since you don't seem to need any turbine time, I would stay away from places like Great Lakes and go to an outfit that can provide you with a good commute/QOL.

I had to chuckle at that comment. At 42 I did the same thing you are contemplating for exactly the same reason. In my case, the "stability" has been about the same, but at least I'm not tied to a pager.

Good luck.

A lot of new service into SAF lately so that should help the commuter. Keep in mind possible weight restrictions when it is warm.

Lakes' loads in and out of SAF (per statistically insignificant small samples) dropped a lot with new competition, not really a surprise there. I wonder how long those routes will be around. For now though, Lakes will get you to DEN or PHX. Just allow some extra time in case they are late....

Anyway if you did commute out of there I would give yourself enough time, as a backup, to drive to ABQ and have a backup flight down there in your pocket. But that is just me.
