That jet...it's so shiny...I can see my face in the polished aluminum. Is there any way I can go back to first year new hire pay just to have the opportunity to engage that autopilot? |

Where you headed? Movement on the CA side at Lakes would be shocking! Seems like only the FOs have been leaving. You get your 1K TPIC?

Whoever gets them United will have to move soon as the first ones are supposed to arrive in January 2014, and they will have a heck of a time staffing them if it is new growth. |
I'm surprised XJT isn't getting any. They have a ton of 50 seaters. Chautauqua is also coming up on the end of the "American Connection" which I believe is going buh-bye as soon as their contract is up. We shall see in due time.

Heard a rumor that Tran States may be in on some of them. Heard Mesa too but I don't think they have any 50 seaters to trade for them like TSA does.

Late last year it was extended for 18 months. So there less than a year left on it.
It was extended from the expiration date in February. |

Good for them! I hope it goes to someone who deserves it, rather than into the hands of mesa.
They get their own handed down by big jerry if united doesn't play ball. Food for thought. Current E170 operators: 1) California Pacific 2) Compass 3) Republic 4) Skywest |

FWIW, due to the sequester, the FAA has indicated that there will be no new type certifications from now through the end of 2014. So, the airplanes will have to go to an airline that currently has a E170 on their certificate. SKW got around this by applying for the new type before the sequester began.

A fed we had in our jumpseat informed us of the "no new types during sequester" policy. Said that process is one of the most expensive things they do, hence it was one of the first things to go when cut time began. |

Current E170 operators: 1) California Pacific very, very doubtful 2) Compass this is a legit possibility 3) Republic again, doubtful. Republic will be flying for AA out of ORD which I'm sure UA doesn't like... 4) Skywest As for Mesa, they could be the wild card. However, I'm sure this would have leaked out by now. I would love to see TSA get them just **** on GoJet's shoes but who are we kidding, Hulas won't pay for Thrust Reversers on their 145's, wonder what MX would look like on a new type. |
I'm wondering where all of these aircraft are going to come from. I just had a Republic guy on the J.S. who said that BB had priority for deliveries from Brazil. Does this mean that Republic will get their 47 planes followed by 00 and then the 30 for United will come online??:D

If this is in fact the case, it's going to be a while before 00 operates a flight with the E-170-200 and even longer for the United birds to find a home.

Rah has no priority, aircraft manufacturers can deliver more than just 3 airplanes a month. That's why they call them slots. Rah has slots, united has slots and Skywest has slots along with all other airlines whom bought Ejets with slots in 2013-2015. Out of rah, SKW and United I am willing to be that rah will be the one slowing the line as it can't take delivery of the airplanes on the p,Anne's schedule

So if I am reading press releases correctly, the 30 UAL is buying to be operated by still an unnamed regional, will start coming online or at least delivered beginning Jan 2014. Skywest's begin 2nd qtr right? I'm amazed this unnamed regional hasn't been publicly announced yet. I realize this is the whole point of the thread, but considering these planes will start to arrive before OO's, I've got to think this announcement will be any day now. Recruiting, training planning etc doesn't happen overnight!

Even better question is why does someone that's a MD90PIC hang out in the regional forum. That's like an old guy hanging out at the college bar. creepy |

The contract goes to binding arbitration soon with arguments ending in September. I would expect an announcement Then if they are going there. |
anyone have a guess where united might deploy these in their system? Chicago to compete with RAH's american 175's? EWR to bring more first class as XJT shifts some of its flying to MCI and DEN?

There was the initial rumor that these would be coming to us at Compass, and then that died. The talk around HQ was that California Pacific had actually placed the lowest bid on this flying and United awarded it to them. However, United has since had second thoughts on an unproven carrier. My guess is that Compass, by default will end up with some of this flying. I think what BlueMoon said about the contract negotiations is probably pretty spot on.
