This above advice will keep you at your current office job. After 6 years, im sure you are aware that your current times are not competitive for USAir or UA, unless you have an in. Go to the one with the best work rules. The one with the best rules might go down like Comair, but at least working 121 while applying to the Legacies and LCC, granted that this is your ultimate objective. Network while you are at your new job, because many of these pilots will be moving on to as one guy put it "The land of rainbows and unicorns," that is the Majors.
And your comment about "one with the best work rules" show how clueless you are about the regionals. Such a thing doesn't exist. "Network at your new job"? What, kiss ass to jumpseaters. Give me a break. Yeah, that'll get you hired. |

Why are GoJet pilots scumbags? News flash: we lost the race to the bottom. Don't be a hater. Blame management and the unions, not the pilots who took a job.
Because they support an airline that was founded specifically to circumvent the collective bargaining agreement of another airline. They won the race to the bottom because they supported it in the name of "being a captain sooner!". Without pilots willing to work there, management wouldn't have been able to create the airline in the first place. |

In the face? No no. How about the arm? :D

Ok, technically, that could be said for any regional operating jets. And what makes GoJets worse than Pinnacle, Compass, Trans States, or any other? You need to get off your high horse. Smart pilots do whatever they have to do to move on the fastest. Dumb pilots stick to principles and watch everyone get hired before them. Sounds like you have regrets.

I would do what some have said apply anywhere that's hiring get current and attend those job fairs. I hear that United puts a lot of emphasis on the job fair, show your interest.

Endeavor Air will be hiring by fall, you can come join Delta's elite regional with our elite pay and work rules.
Who knows maybe by then we will have voted in more pay cuts, because Delta needs to give mainline employees another raise. |
