I think your boy missed the mark this time. That is, if your source is that raving mad attack dog on the other forum.

He gets good info the majority of the time. But when he's wrong; he's wrong big time.

We have a few like him on our boards too. Usually reliable. Not so much this time though.

Mason you have it all wrong!

No eaglelounge here. My very good FO told me so and then I went straight to the source.

I asked the specifics from the "source" and this is what I got. I wonder whom his source is? We know his FO read it on EL, so then RJ went straight to EL to read it himself.

Refer to post#3. Do you even read the post?

The guy Mason is referring is an emotional guy who often does bring good information and arguments to light but he is wrong at times as well. But RJ is just an angry person who tries to spread fear and gloom, he thrives on Eagle's struggles and celebrates when things happen that affect people. RJ you are just twisting words and spreading fear, we call you out on it on a daily basis but you continue...

That's the truth, not all this Internet junk. Worst of it is this mec might actually b scale new hires to get shiny planes and fast upgrades, to minimize cuts for those here now.

I am not sure how a B scale would work, specially a B scale for new hires who account for so little already. How will American Eagle compete with other regionals when we have a B Scale unless our upgrade times are much lower than everyone else and that is highly unlikely because you have many guys at Eagle like RJ who will ride this puppy to the ground or retirement.

The MEC has over the last few years given away stuff that affects the junior pilots the most in exchange for keeping the senior guys happy.

Company says we need this much from the captains as they are to expensive, the union says we'll give you that much but spread it around and the company says yes just to turn around and say we need this much more because the senior pilots cost to much and the union says we'll spread it around and this goes on and on. This is how negotiations have gone the last few years. This happened on the BK TA and this is what is happening today. But a B scale is not really going to work unless it has some guarantee at American and I am not talking about just an interview or 35% of classes with 3k guys ahead of you. I think this is all a push to get PBS passed as well as some items the company is not happy with in the contract.

Shrinking fleet:
ATR fleet gone
ERJ-135 scheduled to be gone in 6 months (18ish aircraft)
(2014 is when the so called fleet replacement is/was supposed to start)

Delayed Flow:
Due to APA's timeline, an AA furlough must be on property by 1 August to be able to partake in the 75-100K payout. This made the July classed the latest for people to accept recall, many guys waited until the last minute as to allow the junior folks to go ahead of them in the pipeline and give themselves some cushion and time.

Lies about vacation pay:
We gave away some of the premium in vacation pay during the BK contract, what lies are you talking about? I haven't heard any issues with VAC pay yet, but I am sure there will be since the current American Eagle management is using our contract as wrapping paper while they pack their offices.

Metered 824:
Likely, but remains to be seen. It will be hard for Eagle to offer a B scale, staff a replacement fleet and flow pilots at a high rate with other attrition so something will have to give.

US Airways demanding lower cost:
Sure they are asking for concession due to the "non-competitive" cost our senior pilots provide, but I still stand that this is more posturing to ensure that PBS is passed and other items are squared away in the contract that will give the company a large amount of savings as it takes away our ability to make some extra $$$$.

We still have 135's? I feel really bad for those pax!

What's the reason for so many being opposed to PBS?

Because PBS is all about language and rules. Well AMR has a track record of twisting language and we have no duty or trip rigs. Also PBS negotiated in BK will be nothing like what ASA has.

I hadn't heard him described as emotional. I've heard him described as committed and determined; but not emotional. That's a new one. I'll keep it in mind.

I also hear he is accurate much more than not; but when he's wrong.... he's way off. He seems to have good sources from our side of the fence as well. Not sure how to take him yet. Do you know who he is? is he a CA or FO? young guy, older guy? Just trying to figure out what makes him tick.

I don't know him personally, I know who he is and know people who know him. He is a very smart guy, sometimes it sounds like he is going on a rant and that's what I mean emotional. He cares and he wants to see us do well. He is involved with the local union and he is well informed most of the time. I am not sure about his age but I know this isn't his first career and he is at least in his mid 30's.

What makes him tick. He was very involved with the union and things didn't wen't south. He has his sources and something happen where he supposedly came across some information that was supposed to be on the wraps. The MEC came after him hard trying to get him fired. He has been calling the MEC on their shenanigans for a while even before this incident but I am sure that what Tony and company did helped his determination. He has been one of the guys spearheading the recall of the MEC and they don't like that one bit. He has also been one of the guys looking into the funds abuse and he really stroke a nerve as many of the things he had been saying were accurate.

Tony tried to get him fired because of NDA stuff but were unable to prove it.

I don't know if he has an agenda, but he doesn't have an agenda against the pilots. He could be a good asset for the union but due to the corruption at the head of our union he is not being utilized. He is not someone who you probably want as the face of the union but he could do a good job supporting. The problem is that Tony has an agenda and anyone who gets in his ways gets screwed. Tony hates the pilots, we are a hinderance to him. As days go by more people are realizing this but I still think that we don't have enough people who care to make a difference so we will continue to have the issues we've been having.

Sounds like a guy worth knowing. Wish we had more like that over here.
Sounds like Tony tried to burn the wrong guy.

Keep up the good work. With us as short as we are and the industry hiring projections; I'd bet the US demands are just a last minute grab for more concessions. I'll bet it wouldn't change their plans either way.
