Talked to my friend in recruitment. Hiring is business as usual. This thread is pointless.

Maybe you all should ask RJ Pilot about his "sources". This rumor only ever existed in Eagle Lounge, and the thread on that forum was locked and disappeared later that day.

Only here in Rj Pilot's playground (APC forum) is he allowed to run around saying whatever he wants.

Case and point: This thread. Still open.

Meaning what, they are hiring at the same rate as in previous years? In the other thread ("Eagle to hire 600+ in 2013") it was discussed they are at about 90 new faces during the first half of 2013, which I guess is about normal for them.

Thumbs up American Eagle is Hiring Pilots

I called recruitment to see what the deal is. They said that they are hiring and never stopped. The 60 day thing is if someone is turned down, they can re-apply after 60 days. They said they are hiring as many as possible!

My friend just got this email today:

6/19/2013

Dear ********* ,

American Eagle Airlines is currently hiring pilots! If you are interested in applying for a position, please contact us at
[email protected] or (817)963-1064.

We fly the EMJ-135/140/145 and the CRJ-700. Our bases are ORD, DFW, MIA, and JFK/LGA. For more information on this position, please visit
http://www.americaneaglecareers.com/Jobs/Pilots.html or find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/AEPilotRecruitment.

American Eagle is currently offering a $5,000 bonus for new hire pilots. In addition, all new hire pilots are extended an interview with American Airlines in the future.

We look forward to speaking with you!

Cujo posted the same thing on Eaglelounge then deleted it when he figured out he was wrong. Shouldn't this whole thread be deleted?

I never understand what they mean by this. It makes no sense for a company that uses a passive application/resume system such as AirlineApps, which they use. Exactly how are you supposed to go about reapplying?

Dear AE recruitment,

I interviewed in April XX of this year but unfortunately was not offered a position with AE. During my interview I was informed that I could reapply for a position after 60 days. I have updated my airline apps and look forward to the possibility of joining the AE team.

Ok good suggestion. Not really a reapplication, but maybe it will get them to look at me again.
