What I've been hearing on guard lately is pretty unprofessional. People actually yelling back at someone saying "you're on guard," animal noises, and various poor attempts at comedy. And what's with the "thanks, Delta" responses to the "on guard?" I've flown with hundreds of guys here and have only seen one guy do the on guard thing.

That being said, I heard someone get UAL gooood a few weeks ago while we were landing at EWR. They called for mx on guard, someone responded and said "copy, we'll be right out." No guard police, no nothing.

I can only assume they are still waiting.
Going into IAH the other day I accidentally made the ops call on guard, response was "ya Skywest B 86" I was working a Delta flight and quickly realized what I had done, someone else ripped him on guard shortly after.
Thanks ExpressJet

Pathetic. It is obvious that the morons that play on guard and are an embarrassment on the radio in general have a title: Regional Lifers. Have a wonderful career boys....if you last long enough to call it one.

I can only laugh when I hear DL in ATL call the ramp on guard and some says "proceed to your gate" unchecked. Oh the chaos that is probably going on down there after that...

If they said that, there would be some crossed eyes in the cockpit. If you're gonna punk us there (i've called on guard so have many others due to the "keep it moving" technique required to use 2 radios for ramp and ground), you'd better use right or left lane to the gate.

It's much more effective for a "gate is occupied, have ground hold you out" if you want to mess with us.
