In LA the AA flying tends to go junior so the more senior people will bid the Delta and United flying. Delta trips tend to go more senior in any domicile because it's mostly 700 and 900 flying which pays more.

There's nothing limiting what carrier a person can fly for, but based on seniority and domicile you can make a pretty good guess about what carrier a person will mostly be flying for.

None of this is correct..

No, no no, the BEST pilots get to fly the REAL jets WITH THE ENGINES UNDER THE WINGS!

Epic thread.

How does it work at a wholly owned like psa or eagle? Do they assume the whole class is top gun?

Wholly owned doesnt count since they are really not a regional, just mainline flying smaller aircraft. They are considered superior to contract regional carriers.

Typically wholly owned puts the better pilots in the bigger planes. Lets look at Eagle for example top guys get the CRJ's followed by EMB's when they had the ATR's the lowest scoring guys in class got those. It doesn't really take any skills to fly the props whereas the jets you gotta be the second coming of Bob Hoover or Chuck Yeager to fly the CRJ'S.

The best response by far.

This is my only second posting in this forum. It's off the topic a bit. I need some advise on loosing my accent. I have been laughed at all the time during my 2 years of line flying. Is there anything or any classes I can take to get rid of it? In my ground school, anytime I asked a question, the whole class started to laugh. During my checkride every time I said "Half bank", examiner chuckled. One of my leg from CLE to ORD, FAA came on board. And it was'nt my leg to fly. During the flight I've responded to ATC "Affirmative" & FAA started to chuckle. But he tapped my shoulder & said that I did a good job before he left. I'm furloughed now. But before I get back in flying again, I need to do something about my accent. Thank you.

Nice try, but weak flamebait attempt.

No, truly I'm battling this issue for awhile now. Sometime it's painful to communicate over the radio.

Its not a big deal anymore, most regional newhire classes are all green card holders. Do you fly for Eagle?
