We want the bulk of flying at mainline, not the Regionals. That is the gist of it. Let me know if you would like me to elaborate.
Makes me grin from ear to ear! Hopefully we'll see many more like this in the future, with even more aircraft!
Sorry, please excuse my gross ignorance when I ask, but why is the parking of any aircraft in such large numbers a good thing? and why is would this make you happy? Also, are these all Pinnacle airframes?
Again, sorry for my ignorance, but this is a genuine question from a 1,200 hr CFI.

There are X number of passengers out there to be flown by Y number of pilots. The less RJs there are to fly these passengers means they have to fly on something else, and hopefully thats mainline.
In other words, being an RJ pilot is a low paying job that isn't a career. Its a job that our industry needs to eliminate. Eliminating the jets is a key part to that.

Gotcha. Point understood and well taken. Thanks.

the last two post and first one of this thread are made by wannabe's. those aircraft are just being replaced by larger rj's. and the statement made "being an RJ pilot is a low paying job that isn't a career" watch out for these pilot types, they are called back stabbers or management stooges.

None on both counts. Now a more significant parking of them is coming , and we're a few weeks away from the first recall class. First new bodies in January for a total of likely around 500 new bodies over the next year. And that's just the beginning...
