Poll: First to offer 6k+ bonus

Now that Silver is offering 6k sign on bonus, which airline will offer more than that with the ATP training rules changing next year? This keeps getting more fun to watch!:D

Sure is great to offer a select few a bonus that, when averaged out over length of employment, works out to next to nothing.... instead of just increasing pay and contract quality to improve the overall attractiveness of the airline and pilot retention.

Then again, nobody ever said pilots were good at math or planning for the future.

People seasoned in the regional airlines know that. However, they are hoping to pry on all those star-eyed CFI's and low timers. Just begging to be put in a shiny jet! It is more cost effective to offer a bonus for management. Because they can ALWAYS take it away if things go down the drain.

Silver doesn't even have the shiny jets which would satisfy the SJS...

It is a great Tax write off for the company Plus the one time $5,000.00 or $6,000.00 bonus looks a lot appealing than a $1.00 per hour raise

There was rumour about Eagle offering 10k but it didn't go anywhere.

The problem is not every low timer and star eyed CFI make much more money than first year FO, and Seminole time will never carry them in to the majors.

I believe they do offer a 10k but it's for the pipeline program. Goes towards your student loan. Not positive though.

Oh boy, so now instead of living off ramen noodles these poor new FO's can now afford to splurge on happy meals. I don't know how they got my email, but some job fair company was willing to pay me to attend one of their regional airline job fairs, how pathetic is this becoming.

This is true and a conundrum.

Who cares about a 6k or even 10k bonus. They need to at least double first year pay!
