Default Regional ?'s

I do not care about flow through to the majors. Upgrade is nice but not everything as QOL is also quite important I think. Would prefer to be with a company flying a Cr7 and up or an Ejet due to MTOW.

Best companies I can see for this are

Compass, Skywest, Republic and possibly Mesa ( if the new jets are coming in )

Does anyone have an opinion with this criteria?

As well does TPIC really mean as much nowadays or has nothing changed and its the ONLY thing that matters when getting hired somewhere else?

Cheers. Please try to just answer and help and not run on a company bashing rant or whatever else. You know what can happen on this forum

If you don't care about upgrade or flow just pick the one where you can live in base.

Just out of curiosity, why wouldn't you care about upgrade or flow?

Are you trying to get on with a foreign outfit down the road(MTOW)?

I have a question as well.

Do airlines offer health insurance?

How much will be taken out of a paycheck every month?

No, airlines don't 'offer' anything. We pilots negotiate it through collective bargaining.

But yes, you'll get health insurance. Cost varies.

Just spoke to a friend this morning. He had to vent a little about working at mesa. Now along with his god awful schedules, he said heath care premiums are rising, and also they were going to cancel vacations next month. Sounds like a great place to work!

Bingo, I have no drive whatsoever to fly for the Majors in the US but would jump at anything foreign preferably Mid East hence the MTOW.

I should also mention that I can move to wherever in the US so the basing could be anywhere. Further I would like then to hold a line ASAP. So now with these factors in play any ideas?

Look in the dictionary under "Epic Fail" and you'll find the definition is "Regional Airline Flow-through Programs".

I wouldn't hang my hat on that either, although with projected retirements there should actually be flow occurring for those that already have it.

But TPIC will continue to be important unless you have excellent family connections or possibly an affirmative action ticket.

For foreign airlines, their experience requirements vary, best to research the ones you're interested in and plan accordingly. Some want TPIC, some only want 121 time with a certain MTOW, others want time-in-type.

Some of the majors are loosening up and will now hire w/o TPIC. Someone correct if I'm wrong, but I believe United, JetBlue, Virgin America, Spirit and Allegiant among others. Someone just posted on the Horizon thread that Alaska will hire Horizon FOs.

Don't know about overseas carriers.

If the OP isn't looking to go overseas, they have a mild to severe case of SJS. I respect the fact if you want to fly a big shiny RJ to go overseas. However, please don't go to a PSA, Pinnacle, Mesa, etc., JUST because they have a bunch of big shiny planes with engines under the wings so you can get a girl in every city
