Regional ?'s

If the OP isn't looking to go overseas, they have a mild to severe case of SJS. I respect the fact if you want to fly a big shiny RJ to go overseas. However, please don't go to a PSA, Pinnacle, Mesa, etc., JUST because they have a bunch of big shiny planes with engines under the wings so you can get a girl in every city

I might apply if only the engines were under the wings.

I do not care about flow through to the majors. Upgrade is nice but not everything as QOL is also quite important I think. Would prefer to be with a company flying a Cr7 and up or an Ejet due to MTOW.
Best companies I can see for this are
Compass, Skywest, Republic and possibly Mesa ( if the new jets are coming in )
Does anyone have an opinion with this criteria?
As well does TPIC really mean as much nowadays or has nothing changed and its the ONLY thing that matters when getting hired somewhere else?
Cheers. Please try to just answer and help and not run on a company bashing rant or whatever else. You know what can happen on this forum

- Flow is not a factor
- Upgrade is not a factor
- QOL is a factor
- You want a "heavy" RJ.
Is 65.2k lbs heavy enough? If so... Horizon? You'll make more than at PSA/Mesa/RAH.
Where do you live? Where do you want to live?

No disrespect to the prop drivers intended. Heck, I could be flying one in the next year.

As far as the companies you have listed, the only advice I can give is to perhaps think twice before going to Mesa or Republic.
Their work rules and contracts seem to be pretty poor even by Regional standards.
I don't know any details about SkyWest or Compass beyond the things you read on this forum so I'll let other people answer for those companies.
TPIC does not matter much anymore these days. Part 121 turbine time in general is enough to get you an interview at all the Majors and LCCs. Spirit might be the only exception. I have heard they now require 500 pic time but I'm not 100% on that. But none of the majors require PIC time anymore.
Final thought: Choose whichever airline will allow you to live in base.

OP, why do you want to work in the ME so bad? There are some interesting stories about life/flying there. Do you know anyone who flies there? If so, talk to them before you make any decisions.

Ok thanks for some positive input ladies and gents.
Just to catchup a little bit.
Flow I dont care about because I think its a gimmick and I dont want to fly for the US majors anyways.
Upgrades, well again the regional that anyone works for might disappear before you get there so why choose a company based off of upgrade time rather then QOL while you are there.
Yes heavy jets only for flying in the middle east Sometimes its +10 sometimes its +30 tons that they look for but from what I gather they are only looking for jets so thats what I want.
No there is no case of SJS here but in fact getting onto equipment that I believe would give me the biggest range of options after the regional is what I want and if that happens to be an Ejet then so be it.
I went from 300 - 1500 hours flying planes in the bush in Africa and met allot of different pilots there from all around the show. The mid east to me just seems one of the few places that you can get some respect as a pilot anymore.
Oh and like I said before about living in base I am single and can move wherever. Would prefer N.east or California.
Cheers again and any helpful feedback would be appreciated.
** BTW, I have read about PSA and no I'm not interested in going there. I do believe that signing on to concessionary contracts only gives employers ANYWHERE the thought that you can manipulate your workforce to whatever you need. It may not bite you at your current employer but how do you know that someone down the road might not try it again based off of past history? Vote No
Strength in numbers.

2. ENDEAVOR has no "engine under wing" aircraft. They got rid of the "engine ON wing" (saab, Q) aircraft several years ago.
research before posting, please

irony- a guy with the name "motormadness" chiding someone for their choice of engine size/location.....
