The verdict is out! The industry experts have spoken!! The opinion is unanimous in favor of ground breaking industry leading contracts at Eagle/Envoy and RAH! Pilots will be carpe'ing the diem if they vote yes and destroying all possible future prospects for advancement if they follow the foolish herd of angry ill-informed pilots and stand for unrealistic and damaging improvements...
...except that's not really the case, is it? A few RAH pilots quickly recognized the Swelbar blog for what it was - a literal word for word repeat of company talking points in support of their sole objective - get this POS to pass! RAH negotiations were hijacked midstream by a few (one R.D. in particular) who have a vested interest in seeing the TA pass and much to lose (ego is a delicate thing) if it does not and they are pulling out all the stops. The article by this theoretically unbiased analyst is so stilted with literal cut and pastes of the same arguments we've all heard already coming from the company that I'd guess it took Swelbar about 5 minutes to write it while making coffee and reading the paper.
It seems like Eagle/Envoy had a drive-by expert analysis as well. Interesting... All sorts of inside facts, and none of them original.
It would seem that Swelbar and Hegeman have turned into a literal corporate PR arm in a combined effort by RAH and Eagle/Envoy management to sway the vote to yes. Given the sea-change in pilot availability that is taking hold and changing the industry - and the value of a skilled and professional airline pilot - for a long time to come, these two management teams, possibly working in unison, will pull off the heist of the decade if these thinly veiled efforts work.
Exhibit... well, not A... maybe X or Z in the RAH combined effort is the latest "facts not rumors" sheet that now informs us in big bold letter to VOTE... or CHANGE YOUR VOTE by the deadline - which has been conveniently extended now due to either wholesale incompetence in sending ballot information, a hope that an extension may change votes if Eagle/Envoy votes yes, or a combination of both. You decide. But the concept of "facts vs rumors" seems to have more layers than an onion.
This is how the sad little world turns. Vote early vote often!
