Need advice
I am at ATP minimums and I'm thinking of going to the airlines. The only prob is I'm not instrument current and haven't done any instrument work in 4 years. I'm thinking about using my gi bill to just go get my ATP would that get me current? Also I'm trying to figure out what airlines I should apply to and be able to stay in Texas without commuting to far.

IPC for sure. Practice prior on a sim at home! It's cheaper. Study the Jepp plate symbols and get into the ATP written just in case you have those tech questions on a written or something. Good luck! It's like riding a bike!

Regarding using the GI Bill for the ATP- try to avoid that!!!! It is not necessarily a bad deal, but a bad deal compared to what you can use it for otherwise. Get another degree, a masters, etc. Something outside Aviation just in case. It takes away quite a bit of GI Bill for the ATP, so you're flushing a truly valuable package down the proverbial drain for something you can get for free from a regional!
