So are you over 50, or born in a foreign country?

Meah = Tool
I doubt if you are a left seater, otherwise that would explain why there might be a pilot shortage at least at your airline.
Who could do fit in the same cockpit with that ego?
The guy was just being legit.

Who do you think you are that you are picking on someone over the internet? That's pretty low.

I second the Bose QC15 + UFlyMic Combination. Looks for for the Bose on eBay and you can find a deal.
Don't know how much you have to carry at Mesa but this works great as a flight basin the CRJ 7/9:
SOLO Classic 16" Catalog Case PV50-4 - Luggage Pros
I was never able to find something at Office Depot that fit; they all had wheels attached which would most likely not fit in the plastic bucket on the CRJ.
If you're going to be using paper Jepps, consider a 1" trip book a necessity. The Standard Jepp Plastic Binder works great and clips into the mounted clipboard to your right very well.
I'm doing very well with a $100 black bag I got at Costco as far as luggage. YMMV.

I flew for Pinnacle. The RJ200 was my first jet. I began with Sennheiser HMEC 25 ANR's. After a long day they feel like clamps on your head just like the DC's. Then I purchased the Plaintronics MS-200 for about $150. They're a single ear light weight set and I hardly noticed that I had it on. It'll go in either ear. The RJ is a quiet plane and the single earpiece lets you hear the other crewmember during conversation. You definitely don't need to spend $1,000 on a headset. Luggage, it's the LW 22" Stealth w/computer pocket. It fits in every overhead bin. You'll never have to buy another suitcase. You can order online or at a Stopover Store in MSP, DTW, or ATL. I also purchased the LuggageWorks Stealth Duffel (Model 202A) & LUGGAGEWORKS NORDIC COOLER for a complete package. The Stopover Store is really neat. You're airline should furnish you with a uniform including a winter overcoat/raincoat. Pinnacle had a big closet in Memphis with all different sizes and we tried stuff on to be sure on the sizes.
The guy who said to always be sure to ASK for permission from the CA to ride in the jumpseat was correct. Don't get frustrated with commuting. You'll get bumped off the JS by a mainline pilot at the last minute or out of the back by a retiree's grandchild going on spring break so just have a back up plan. But, sometimes, it goes perfectly and a nice gate agent or FA will invite you up to 1st class and all is right with the world. Be extremely nice to gate agents no matter what. I'm happy to provide any additional insight...just PM me.
