If you get the "Times" model, the upper will separate from the soul pretty quick. I took some super glue to it and they held up fine.

It wasn't till the coating started to peel on the upper when I replaced them.

I guess when the shoes were made in South America they were veru durable, but they started making the in China and that's when the separation issue started I believe.

The shoe is very comfortable (for me at least) and won't set off the x-ray at non KCM airports.

I got a pair about 2 months ago, paid about $45 for them at Famous Footwear.

Amazon.com: Bostonian Men's Wendell Oxford,Black Leather,11 M US: Shoes

I've got nearly 2 years on them now. The uppers are still in great condition, the tread is starting to show a bit of wear, but I do walk the terminals on long sits so they get a lot of mileage. They are very comfortable and metal free. Plus, they look good and won't break the bank.

There's always the pilot who thinks it's ok to wear these. Every airline has this guy.

Mine are a little more scuffed up. They don't hold polish very well, so I quit trying.

LOL!

The Brits used to call those crepe soled bedroom creepers.

Funny enough it's always a nice guy who doesn't care.

I wear polished Black Ariat ropers, most comfortable footwear I own and they hold up to de-ice fluid much better than your average dress shoe. Purchased them 3 years ago now and still haven't had to have the soles done which I was told was simple and cheap...
