Ok, I have been told the following:
-yes we are getting the XRs, all of them eventually -we have already inked something with American and includes another domicile -a lot of the hush hush is by request of the code share partners. This could be all rumor. It could never happen. It does make sense since we are hiring way more pilots than for just 18 more airplanes. |

Everything here sounds very interesting. I hope it's true for them waterski guys!

I would think it be obvious. They're going to use that rumor to staff the 36 new planes, since only a handful of new hires will see the upgrade. Standard regional hiring tactic.

Hey quick question did your source actually say you all would be getting XRs? I am curious because I was told that the XRs are actually our profitable aircraft and they and that we ( XJT) would not be losing them any time soon. Now I could see you all getting some more of the unprofitable aircraft that we are parking. We are parking around 100 of them. I think it would all be contingent on how well you all can staff the ones you are getting. Right now I figure you all are looking at hiring around 360 to 400 pilots if all the aircraft coming our add planes and not replace any. That means you would double in size. That is a lot of guys to get through training in a year, but it is possible. Plus that is without attrition which I think you guys are losing guys as well.
All of XJT's aircraft are unprofitable thanks to the CPA Skywest negotiated. |

Math really isn't one of your strong areas is it? I bet doing those RNAV arrivals with no VNAV was a real brain buster for you wasn't it? |

TSA doesn't need to start rumors to staff doubling the fleet. 36 new aircraft is going to take somewhere in the neighborhood of 180-200 captains factoring in attrition over the 18 months. Our most junior captain isn't on the seniority list yet. If you go by active line pilots.
Math really isn't one of your strong areas is it? I bet doing those RNAV arrivals with no VNAV was a real brain buster for you wasn't it? My math is fine. You're doubling your fleet, so pretty much all FOs on property that have the time will upgrade. Those that don't have the time I imagine would displace any CQFOs as they get the time. (Don't know if I'm a hundred percent correct on that one.) As for attrition, in order for attrition to help with the quick upgrade, the attrition has to come from the Captain side. You know better than I do how many of your captains are lifers. Eventually you'll have to start hiring people who are ok with flying in the right seat for a few years, unless the majors open the flood gates and a large part of your captains leave, or the majors hire a bunch of FOs, which they are hiring some. Plus you'll have to compete with the likes of Mesa and PSA who also advertise the quick upgrade, have all 70+ aircraft (except for PSA's 200's). And PSA offers the preferential interview. I was half joking about using that rumor to hire for the 36 planes. But you can't even tell me these companies haven't pulled crap like this in the past, I've heard it over and over again from captains. I hope the flood gates open, I hope the DOW never drops below 10,000, and that oil continues to drop, and that you guys, are able to ride the top of this whipsaw wave to a more secure job. My issue isn't with regional pilots, but with how mainline and regional mgt has treated us in the past. It's changing now because the numbers are on our side for the moment. |

It's about time some logic comes out in a post. This would be correct all the way down to having to replace the CQFO's. |

I unplugged from this thread this afternoon but you follow me around in other threads and try to mudsling, I'm bringing it right back here. The only habit I have after TSA, (which implies more than one occurrence, I mean jeez at least get the insult correct) is landing interviews, and getting hired. And no I'm not talking Great Mistakes or Mesa either. I was wrong about your jets, admitted it, wished you well, and unplugged from the thread this afternoon. You can say what you want about me in here, I couldn't care less. But you want to follow me around other threads and sling more mud, I'm brining it back here. |
This thread is badly in need of moderation. Get a room.

If you spend all your time antagonizing people and being an idiot. You will gain a reputation and it will follow you around. The internet is not anonymous. Not many people have been fired from TSA. Would not be hard to connect the dots. Its a small industry. Stop talking crap and trolling and try being a decent human being. It might get you further in such a small industry. |

I would rather fail a dozen checkrides than get terminated. Trust me when I say nobody on this entire board likes you, and you add nothing of any worth to it. You currently fly 135 (supposedly) and spend all your time on the regional boards trashing people and 121 carriers. You troll everything TSA then expect people to leave you alone and expect not to garnish attention or have a reputation follow you around?

I bring up the same issues of carrot dangling, false estimates, that I've heard TSA and regional pilots complain about in cockpits and crew rooms time and again. It's not trash talk or trolling, it's my opinion on the company, based on my experience with it, posted in a public forum. Read it, ignore it, post the opposite opinion, and move on. Attack me personally, I'll have something to say about it. My reputation is fine, infact it's part of what got me my job now. And I'm quite open and honest about my firing so go ahead and connect the dots. |
Can't we start a specific thread just for stupid bickering and save the established ones for unfounded rumors?

Just stop being bitter already. The only thing Pilottim has done wrong is choose the incorrect ingress team.
