Ah yes, they want to get out and go to a regional (I mean major, as in ExpressJet), right?

I can also point to several guys that left my place of employment for jetBlue that love it.

Leaving a good regional CA position paying $75k+ for an FO position at jetBlue would be a gamble, I could agree with that. But a new hire at a regional vs. jetBlue? I'd be surprised if anyone chose a regional.

Personally, I wouldn't leave a decent regional for JB...too few bases, too few destinations, too little pay & bennies. And the brighest long-term future they can hope for is to be bought by a decent major and not stapled.

If they opened a domicile in my home town, that might be different.

Rick, that wasn't the question. It was, would you pick a regional vs. jetBlue as a new hire?

Regionals are dependent upon their code share partners health. Maybe I'm wrong, but I personally would want to fly as a standalone operator vs. code share.

Did I say that? I must have missed it...just said that i was told life sucked over there, not that they wanted to jump ship. Personally, I wouldn't go. It's definately standalone...it's a standalone regional.

You can't honestly say, given the choice as a new hire @ XJT or JB, you would take XJT, would you? Be honest.

But wait, my opinion doesn't count, because I'm "just a CFI", right? Gotcha. Thanks for the attitude readjustment.

No i get that from your other posts. Personally as a new hire I would go to Jetblue. But lets be serious you cant get a job out of instructing straight to Jetblue. The only reason why i wouldnt start at XJT if given the choice would be because of the first year pay. 2nd year pay for me at XJT is right under 50k. Not bad but first year pay was hard. To each their own.

PS i was giving you crap because of previous posts. I figured you werent a CFI i was just messing with you. ALl in good fun Bossman.

Go back to post #1 and RTFQ. His post said nothing about leaving ExpressJet to go to jetBlue, it was "which one would you chose, I have an opportunity at both". SOME people have a little more experience than the typical 600 hour CFI, and as such might have different options.

Go Back and RTFQ!! I tried to be civil on the last post and you continue with your BS. This person speaks nothing of experiance. YOu nor i know their experiance level. you need to relax abit and or go get laid cheif.

In a perfect world where you could just go anywhere you wanted and had the choice between JBlue and or XJT I would choose JBlue probably because the first year pay and your company is flying for itself. Which XJT is about to be doing so who knows XJT MAY be a great choice if everything works out. We shall see. Fly safe.:D

MTBrulz 01-17-2007 07:44 AM

the reason I asked it's because leaving aside the $$$ and job secutity few airlines apparently guarantee, B6 already has all the FOs they need for CAs, new hire FOs at B6 go into the E190 (at least I know I will), so for the next 5 years I'd be on the right seat. If the upgrade at Xjet is fast enough I'd rather make the same money on the left seat...As for a long run career decision, I don't know which one's better, B6 still has a lot to prove to the public...

Stop being difficult. Here, I've quoted his question, and highlighted the pertinent part.

Now, I am assuming a little here, but if someone says they "may have a chance on both" I would assume they have the mins for both and have internal walk-ins available. That's just me though. Obviously you can't be wrong though, my mistake for assuming as much.

Oh, and the difference with ExpressJet doing their own flying is that they were forced into it, and they have no established track record doing so. At least jetBlue has a history of operating successfully.

P.S. It's "experience", with an "e", not an "a".

MT - I know several CA's at my company have left recently for JB. They are rolling the dice. Keep in mind, while JB doesn't look hot now it's run by competent people and fuel prices have started to moderate. There is no guarantee you'd upgrade at ExpressJet in 5 years either. Anything could happen. Personally I'd go to JB, you can always go to a regional if it doesn't work out. Just IMO.

Hey Buddy

I got an idea MT asked about XJT and B6 well you dont work at either so how about you let people who actually have "experiance" in the question answer. I like your determination though, its admirable. Please continue to downgrade ExpressJet we all enjoy your babbilings:rolleyes:

You are now my favorite person to Debate with I really cant wait till our next discussion. You seem so full of anger, try and relax and lets all get along.

Ok Buddy

You work for a good company also. Hows AWAC?
