Now, I am assuming a little here, but if someone says they "may have a chance on both" I would assume they have the mins for both and have internal walk-ins available. That's just me though. Obviously you can't be wrong though, my mistake for assuming as much. Oh, and the difference with ExpressJet doing their own flying is that they were forced into it, and they have no established track record doing so. At least jetBlue has a history of operating successfully. P.S. It's "experience", with an "e", not an "a". MT - I know several CA's at my company have left recently for JB. They are rolling the dice. Keep in mind, while JB doesn't look hot now it's run by competent people and fuel prices have started to moderate. There is no guarantee you'd upgrade at ExpressJet in 5 years either. Anything could happen. Personally I'd go to JB, you can always go to a regional if it doesn't work out. Just IMO. I got an idea MT asked about XJT and B6 well you don't work at either so how about you let people who actually have "experience" in the question answer. I like your determination though, its admirable. Please continue to downgrade ExpressJet we all enjoy your babblings:rolleyes: You are now my favorite person to Debate with I really cant wait till our next discussion. You seem so full of anger, try and relax and lets all get along. Ok Buddy You work for a good company also. Hows AWAC? |

I merely pointed out that more pilots than not leave regionals (such as ExpressJet) to go to jetBlue, not the other way around. Read into that how you want. I never claimed to have worked at both. |

the reason I asked it's because leaving aside the $$$ and job secutity few airlines apparently guarantee, B6 already has all the FOs they need for CAs, new hire FOs at B6 go into the E190 (at least I know I will), so for the next 5 years I'd be on the right seat. If the upgrade at Xjet is fast enough I'd rather make the same money on the left seat...As for a long run career decision, I don't know which one's better, B6 still has a lot to prove to the public...
MTBrulz To answer your question, Right now upgrade to Captain is right at 2 years. IF everything stayed the same i would anticipate it remaining at the 2 year mark. That's IF. None of us knows the future. But Right now things look good and announcement about the future ops of expressjet is about to be released to the public. We just got an email also talking about our charter ops is a big hit and that the company has told the union that they are looking at doubling the charter fleet size by the end of the year. Which the pilots flying the charter get an 18 dollar an hour override for the charter ops but you have to be pretty senior on the capt and FO list to hold it right now. The charter pay is good money. IF the branded flying works out and is successful anything is possible with the company. time will tell. Lots of what ifs but that goes for any airline you choose good luck with your choices. |

Well by your thought process you couldn't accurately give a good answer either, since you haven't worked for jetBlue as well as ExpressJet.

So fosters I declare a truce. I think you have ultimately good intentions even though sometimes you come across as an XJT hater. :D |
Worked for both. XJET good place to work. Jetblue good place to work. It is 2 year aircraft lock, not 5. Last time I heard the 190 upgrade was under 2 years. The 190 CA rates are terrible, but I'm sure you will make more at JB compared to XJT.
