You quoted my message, but I don't think I suggested anything to the contrary. And I agree: The whole thing is stupid.

Fair enough. Ironically, I hate Latin and so never bothered to learn how to speak it. :D

Main Entry: 3sic
Pronunciation: 'sik, 'sEk
Function: adverb
Etymology: Latin, so, thus -- more at SO
: intentionally so written -- used after a printed word or passage to indicate that it is intended exactly as printed or to indicate that it exactly reproduces an original <said he seed [sic] it all>

Sorry to all for creeping the thread.

TSA is great a couple months ago I was flying out to go on a boat trip with my emergency gear. When I was packing I missed the flare gun and flares but, thats ok cause TSA missed it too. Nothing like letting a firearm on board even if it was accidental. Just makes your feel real nice and safe.

The fact the flare gun was orange probably threw them off.

This really chaps my hide - where were you when you got searched? At your Base? in a crew area/room? did you have an airport badge for that airport?

The Thanksgiving after 9/11 I had a knife that had fallen underneath the bottom of an adidas sport bag i used as my carry-on. I didn't even know it was there until security in IAD caught it on the flight BACK. I too got that nice fuzzy feeling that can only be gained from having someone with a GED operate an Xray machine.

Hey - give'em more than that GED and it'll cost us more!
Just let them do their job - at least the ones that know how to do it!!

The screener today at IAD could barely keep his eyes open while looking at the XRay screen.

I was at South Bend IN the other day picking up a friend and this TSA kid walked past. I swear he wasn't more than 15. I couldn't believe it.
