Post A question and some info

Good morning fellow pilots,

I come here in search of some wisdom!
Probably this thread has already been posted by a lot of youngsters like me, and I hope to not break any of the rules of the forum.

First the question:

I received 5 offers from various regionals as right now (EXPRESSJET, ENVOY, MESA, ENDEAVOR AIR and REPUBLIC).

I would like to stay as close as possible to Dallas, where my family and my house are, but as you know, nobody likes to be stuck in reserve forever and see from there the upcoming centuries.

EXPRESSJET is in hiring mode and they gave me the options for CRJs or ERJ145 (bases either only DFW or DFW and IAH) and they have good contract for deadhead and bad weather cancellations.

ENVOY will likely be 145 as well (hopefully DFW), and they used to be pretty solid back in time.

MESA offers BY PHONE classes for the 900 (but i heard that a lot of people got asked to pass to ERJ when in class), not totally sure what to think about them!

ENDEAVOR AIR - CRJ + 80k in 4 years + the upgrade to capt in 39months - but even there the FO that interviewed me has been there for 7 years !? And bases are all up north...

REPUBLIC have CRJ as well but nothing really appealing as far as the bases or equipment.

As you know, the industry is unreliable and keeps changing. Whenever they interview you have to listen to them bragging about how their training is the best and the lifestyle is great (all but ENVOY, which admits that conditions are crappy!).

If you were in my shoes, which one would you tent towards?

Thx in advance!

Sounds like the start of a pilot shortage to me. Choose the one with the fastest upgrade.

Endeavor has a 39 month upgrade???

Last I hear 7+ year employees were being downgraded from captain to fo.

That 80k sounds pretty sweet tho...

Take whoever will get you Dallas based. You'll enjoy the qol at home in reserve more than you will commuting to a line likely.

Sooo chasing an upgrade when there is a shortage is a wise move? Tell me, what happens when the fast upgrade is over? What makes you think, in the face of a shortage, people are going to go to places like Mesa and PSA once they can no longer get a quick upgrade? They're going to go elsewhere! And it's going to be endeavor all over again.

You may also want to consider which of these has a Flow that will support continued movement.

Endeavor said that..39 months...but again a 7 year senior FO told me,which is sort of funny!

Which one of these looks like having the fastest upgrade??

How I see the choice is articulated in 4 possible directions

-The one that gives you the bigger a/c (think MESA)
-The one that gives you the base (most likely Envoy or Expressjet)
-The one that pays better (Endeavor)
-The one that gives you the fastest upgrade and seniority (who???)

I might be also interviewing for Skywest for their base in Houston

RAH doesn't have CRJ's and Mesa doesn't have "erj's"...have CRJ's 900's and emb-175's...

Plus several other incorrect things in your post.

I detect troll bait. (never mind that all these same questions have been asked over and over again ad infinitum on this web board)!

Have you ever commuted or lived in a crashpad?

Not the ideal life style.

That looks like being Envoy and EXJet, right...
the truth is that every other mushroom like carrier that grew out of nothing kind of scares me.

At the same time if they want to give away a bag full of money for a place as FO, why to say no...is reserve really commutable from DFW to JFK or Detroit or Minneapolis???

Don't do anything these humps suggest. Make your own decision. Be your own fulfiller of destiny. Part the Red Sea in your own Endeavor for greatness. The Delta is ahead, flat and boring, but soon gives rise to great mountains you'll not traverse with horse and carriage, but by a Boeing 7ER category by your 30th birthday. For fugg sakes, that was good.
