Pilots are skilled labor that can be replaced, you may not believe that but it’s absolutely true, regardless of the # of qualified applicants. If you’re FIRED it will take you the better part of a decade to get rehired (121) and you’ll need to know someone on the inside. It’s sad but true, there is an unwritten law that says “Fired Pilots are Damaged Goods, DO NOT HIRE.”

I can tell you this. The company posted an updated seniority list last night. This is typically not done without reason. They will post the updated list when a realignment, downgrade or vacancy notice is forthcoming. So, we can expect something like that soon. Something else interesting. The CRJ bid pack for February listed "DGS" for all the F/Os begining the end of February. This is speculated to mean either "Downgrade Ground School" or "Differences Ground School"
Thanks for the vote of confidence though, we could use a little boost around here.

Remember the DC-9-10s that Northwest had up until last year? They were the same size as a CRJ-900 (86-94 seats) and will do the same flying that the -10s used to do. Would it be great for the guys who have fought for Mesaba's survival (and their own jobs)? Yes. But it doesn't matter who flies 'em (Pinnacle, Mesaba, SkyWest, GoJets), aircraft the size of the 900 at ANY regional hurts us all. So forgive me if I'm not jumping for joy...

So how will this effect call-backs/hiring at Mesaba? Just curious...
Obviously call-backs come first and foremost, but will there be room (with these new jets) for growth in the pilot group?

I believe we will get the 900's because of a few reasons. MESABA will be at the Dallas Air Inc job fair 'cause we need pilots for growth. Here's one reason.
