"Discussions" with AAG
February 26, 2015
MEC SPECIAL MEETING UPDATE Fellow Pilots - The MEC met in Euless today for a special meeting with AAG corporate executives. Representing AAG were Mr. Robert Isom, Mr. Kenji Hashimoto and our CEO Mr. Pedro Fabregas. The MEC had expected Mr. Isom, and found it positive that AAG also sent Mr. Hashimoto to the meeting since AAG Officers have not met with any other regional MEC in recent memory. The MEC had requested this meeting with AAG to seek clarity on the future of our airline. The MEC articulated the concerns of the pilots and asked the tough questions, which the AAG executives answered candidly. Mr. Isom acknowledged that retaining pilots needs to be a high priority and Mr. Hashimoto and Mr. Fabregas were to meet later in the day back at HQ to chart solutions. We impressed upon them that these are time critical initiatives and that action needs to come sooner rather than later. We were informed that our pilot applications have significantly increased each month since signing the new CBA, however attrition still remains higher than anticipated. It is the MEC’s position that the company must aggressively pursue significant improvements to our working conditions, strive to improve employee morale, and establish a retention program that will give our pilots a reason to stay here. While the meeting left the MEC members with a positive opinion of the plans AAG has for our airline, there can be no mistaking that up until this point we have witnessed very few actions. That said, the good faith shown by AAG of sending top leaders to meet with us, to acknowledge the issues facing our airline, and to commit to immediately working to address those issues cannot be discounted. The MEC will continue working to advance our pilots’ agenda and awaits a timely response from management. In Unity, Sam Pool MEC Chairman |
Sounds like things are back to normal now.
|
Wow, that was quick. Well done!
Hope it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, sharing your Union's news to the world before your own colleagues that are working have had the chance to see it. |
I'd have to agree that this is not the place for Union communications.

Really this place right now is populated by pilot groups benefiting from the demise of envoy. You think they want to hear anything even remotely good? Do you think they will wish us well, or just bash? Why bother? If pilots from other tegionals want to hear this stuff bad enough, they can get it from their friends.

Information, what's the harm? The envoy MEC has made a policy to use social media to disseminate information to as many of their pilot group as quickly as they can. This is just another platform.

I'm curious what demographic isn't getting it over a registered email but is getting their news from an internet message board?
The MEC officially distributes its information via several Internet message boards, email blasts, facebook, Dropbox, Twitter, the public and private sections of the envoy ALPA site, to name a few. |
like I said....
Non-disclosed closed door meetings and over the phone negotiations are happening very frequently here at HQ. I would expect to see some news or a "preview" of an LOA or possibly some more "leaked" info gauging the pilot group response by mid to late March.
|
Well March then agree then implement will be two months down the road and to late. What is stupid is AAG has three carriers offering flow as an enticement to attract new pilots. AAG has three carriers trying to steal pilots from each other. AAG is a cluster f,

Every other regional pilots are distributing their kool aid. They just don't want to read anything good about envoy. |

Thanks for the post!!!! I hope good things come for you guys/gals. Hopefully, AAG will start throwing out retention money like DAL did with 9E.

from someone in EL
Talked to a rep today highlights follows: Isom was straightforward during the meeting answering questions quickly and comfortably. Hashimoto was much more guarded and cagy. The company admitted that they expected attrition to slow or stop after the TA and it hasn't and they are "concerned". Someone at the meeting admitted that they have intentionally been putting us through the wringer for the last 18 months essentially toying with us since the no vote. PSA training is at capacity and cannot increase hiring or training anymore therefore the only new flying they will get is being pushed out into the future. The OT and hotel LOA has been approved. New scheduling software has been paid for and is being implemented for future schedules. CDO's may be going away. iPad talks continue and the company wants them at PSA and Piedmont as well this is slowing implementation down. 4g connectivity to have releases available paperless. Fabregas was sent to HQ after the meeting to go over ideas about staffing and attrition with Hashimoto. |

Let's be real, PSA is growing so much and too fast for what they really can do. AAG just want to keep that illusion as long as they can... |

He's saying that no more additional aircraft would be added over and above current deliveries because PSA is already at max capacity, they can't take on any more. I'm really happy you guys are growing so much, mainline is losing 30 airplanes and -400+ pilots in 2015. |

haha. Told ya. If there is ANY good news for envoy, the kids are going to freak out. The success at places like PSA, TSA, and Mesa depends on other airlines, like envoy and Xjet, continuing to bleed. Any signs of life and they need to come on here and try to squash it quickly. Unfortunately for them, both airlines will continue to survive. envoy is already rounding the corner. If they want to come on our threads then I will continue to enjoy rubbing it in when their estimated upgrade times begin to stagnate.

Really, there is more than that, but I would be giving too much away. Bottom line: settle down. You are fine. However, pilfering pilots from envoy to PSA will slow. If you are mad about that, you are a scumbag. |

Sorry if you don't like the color of the Kool aid now. Looks like we accepted a contract close to PSA and it will change for the best. So at the end you guys are growing but at least we have a better flow and a contract. |
