Air Whiskey Guys?
Any AWAC guys in here heard anything solid about the contract being renewed or securing a new contract this year and in what time frame? CFI CFII MEI roughly six months out of hitting 1500 and AWAC is towards the top of my list if new contract looks good... Any info would be great. Thanks!

Everything is rumors and what we are hearing at Piedmont is that our EMB 145's will be based in DCA. I don't know how that will have any impact on AWAC at out DCA. Which makes sense with SBY and ROA as our Mx bases.

Nothing has been said, and I dont expect to hear anything IMO until at least August. All they keep telling us is that "flying will definitely beyond 2015".

B.F said expect an announcement from C.D. about our future within the next two months.

Latest rumor - and it is just that - is a 10-year agreement with additional airframes on top of our existing fleet. Possibly PSA's -200s - which makes sense but it means AWAC remains a 50-seat only fleet.
No idea how they're going to staff any more airplanes. Depending on the day of the week, RSV coverage goes down to almost nothing now... Mike, out of curiosity, do you wear a Blue shirt or a Red shirt? Or if it's neither, then disregard this :) |
