CRJ 900's for AA in ORD
I've heard that sometime over the next year AA is looking to get a CRJ 900 operator in ORD. Any truth in this? Or rumors who it may be?
|
I mean, call my assumption far fetched. But if venture a wild guess and say PSA?
|
Well have you heard that A) It's actually true that CRJ 9's ARE coming to Chicago? That's the first point I suppose. If that is true, I don't know about PSA because they are having a hell of a time staffing CLT, and not doing very well at it. Skywest or Mesa perhaps?
|
PSA or Mesa or both.

Speculating over which carrier will fly to where or be based where is next to useless however. |

I'm not sure where all these rumors of "PSA is having trouble staffing" are coming from... But they aren't true in the least bit.

PSA is having zero trouble staffing. The ORD base is likely for PSA.
Envoy is downsizing and closing its NY operations, which are half of the CRJ's. PSA is set to receive near half of envoys CRJ's before years end. 1+1= NYC? |

Edit: for the record I wish no harm on Envoy pilots. I hope all the best for them and I dont feel any pleasure from the possible fact that a NYC base comes to PSA as a result of Envoys downsizing. |
[QUOTE=KingAirpilot90;1846610]Since I live 15mins from JFK/LGA I hope you are 100% correct :)[/QUOTE
Could RAH be moving into New York? |

If this is true, why can't Mesa get out of CLT ??
I believe April is the last month for Mesa in CLT. |
Remember all those "OMG...PSA ORD base confrimed" threads from a few months back? That letter mentioned more ORD flying to be done by PSA, so I wouldnt be surprised.

It doesn't happen overnight. We have slowly been receiving routes since January.

Two bases closed by Mesa in the last 12 months? Sounds like a great place to be.

As of March 12th interviews, we were told by a PSA captain 2, not 1 base was to open by end of 2015 at PSA. ORD is an obvious base, NY would probably be #2.

For now, jets are still being deliveried and most of the growth is CLT until another base is opened, which will be much sooner than later IMHO. |

Word is they're keeping 6-8 planes in CLT for now.. The DFW operation they're running is an absolute cluster and may not be permanant.

Effective the 6/4 schedule change, 2 x CR7 are introduced on the DAY-ORD route. These are likely the first CR7 routes that PSA will fly with the 700s coming over from Envoy.

I think they were looking at opening one hub base and adding another outstation base like TYS and DAY for more overnight mx. CVG seemed to be a popular opinion, but I'm sure there are lots of options depending on what the final route structure will be. If we do NY instead of ORD they may try a base closer to that area instead. In the end, who knows?

ORD is an obvious one and I think LGA will happen. I don't know about CVG though. I've heard several of the instructors there say that they are wanting to move all the training to CLT and wind things down in CVG. But who knows, it's all just speculation at this point.

Out of curiosity, where are you able to view the schedule changes (other than searching every possible city pair)?
but a lot of is just checking certain city pairs. Just happened upon this actually. |

Not to pee on your wheaties but a captain or anyone for that matters words should not be taken as fact, only press releases and planes on the Tarmac |
what is said in interviews to prospective candidates is just rumors to help attract more pilots to an airline that has been hiring other airline rejects.
AAG has put PSA on notice about there hiring practices already twice. Let me know how many survive probation. |
