Nope, just that American edges them in seniority progression. Never said "unattractive".
If you look back at the careers of pilots who are on the first page of the big three's seniority lists, the only thing that mattered was seniority. They saw contracts that were all over the place, not to mention most started at completely different companies. Very true. If you choose where you want to go based on the uniform, you're an idiot. Is a double breasted jacket worth potentially hundreds of thousands or over a million over a career? Ok, go with the leather jacket Mav. Wherever you can get on and get seniority the soonest will lead to a better quality of life and fatter wallet. |

Because over the course of an entire career in an industry filled with uncertainty (ie. risk) and companies lead by crap mgmt teams that regularly go bankrupt, I want to work for the one company that has shown a profit each year for 42 CONSECUTIVE years, has never come close to bankruptcy, and refused to furlough any of it's crews in the wake of 9/11. Oh yeah, one more thing. It's customers are as devoted to the company as Apple customers are to Apple. I'm 100% certain that SWA will still be here 20-30 years from now. Can you say the same about any of the others? Based on what facts? 2) SWA didn't file chapter 11. Their non pilot costs are extremely high and will go higher. Much higher than the big 3. 3) same plane for your whole career. 4) almost zero potential for growth SWA is a great job. If I were to choose today, it would be number 7 or lower. Have you ever been to Paris or Manila? |

I'm not super well informed on cargo operators, that's why I asked. Both pay well and on par with each other. FedEx seems to be a popular option for many people, flying on the backside of the clock aside, so it seems logical UPS might be desirable too.

Seems like most everybody prefers Delta. If you could differentiate between Delta-south and Delta-north and choose from there I would too. Delta-south's culture is fueled by anger and egos. No thanks. I'd prefer to enjoy my job.

Originally I wanted to end up at FedEx. After working for them for 7 years and the last 3 of those years in Flights Ops as well as my dad retiring from there no thanks. The pay is great but that back side of the clock flying kills your body. I was amazed at all the times I saw people and I thought man you look like that and are only that old?!?!? Tales from the crypt comes to mind. For me personally it just isn't worth killing myself at a faster pace. To each their own though. I would like to end up at JetBlue now and ride them to the end. I think there is room for potential growth, I like their product and I think they are my best shot of getting out my current airline with no PIC.
