I've only been in this industry for 7 months, but something occurred to me the other day.
When I go work a trip, I usually enjoy myself. The flying is still fun and I have mostly escaped the horror stories of reflows, shorted paychecks, 16 hr duty days, and the like. I'm sure that will change, but until now it's been a mostly positive experience.
But when I read these forums, I feel just the opposite. The sniping, the negativity, the insults (a few of which I have myself admittedly supplied), the doom and gloom... It's enough to make anyone wonder why they joined this industry. It's just depressing. I always log off feeling worse than when I logged in.
So I'm done with this snarkfest. Thanks to those who helped me out when I was considering joining this racket known as the airline biz. Much appreciated. See y'all on the line.

Thin skin,
Bet he is gone before upgrading. Once he experiences the things he hasn't yet, the end will be close. If he can't hang here, wellllll....be shocked if he makes it through the summer after a few choice EFB notifications/reflows. At least he will have a souvineer EFB that will make a better chopping board, than computing device.

High five back at ya, just enjoying the simple things. Howz your upgrade coming, hope those "lifer" RJ/ERJ instructors enjoy you as much in the box as they do here. M.O. Is a nice guy, spent many a break talking with him. I wish him nothing but the best.
